Who are we?
We are a group of friends who practice Aikido for more than ten years in our dojo (school). The name of our school is Masakatsu dojo, which can be loosely translated like “School for which victory over oneself means more then victory over an opponent”. We practice in a peaceful and very friendly atmosphere. Our dojo is not limited only to Czech speaking members and already some non Czech members are training with us as most of us speak English and some even Japanese, German and Russian. We gladly welcome everyone who wants to just visit or even better train with us.
What style?
We practice the Aikikai style. This style is taught by many teachers, but our dojo mostly follows Tada Hiroshi sensei. Every training consists of a warm-up, repetition of basic steps and falls and then focuses on individual techniques. The end of the class is usually used for the practice of techniques with Jo and Bokken (wooden weapons).
Where?
Faculty of physical education and sport of Charles university, Jose Martiho 31, Prague 6 (approximately 20 minutes from Prague’s city center). You can come by tram or by car (parking space is right in front of the Faculty). The tram goes from the metro station Dejvicka (A – green line) and your exit is tram stop Vozovna Vokovice. The big building in front of you is the Faculty. If you have any problem finding us, don’t hesitate and call.

When?
Our classes are every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m.. We do not train on Czech public holidays.
Who teaches?
Our teacher is Rene Skupy (founder of Masakatsu dojo), Czech citizen who practices Aikido for twenty years. Rene is a 3rd dan (black belt) and has been training in Japan for a long time. He speaks Czech, English and Japanese.
What to bring?
If you don’t have a kimono (we use white kimono with a white belt), bring tracksuit (sweats) and t-shirt. You will also need slippers and towel.
How much?
First training costs 100 CZK or 5 Euro.
